Hi, my name is Laura. Thank you so much for stopping by! I’d love to get to know you. Really.
Before I start rattling on about myself, let’s get one big, important thing straight. REAL. FIT. is not about being really fit.
It’s about being REAL first. Our authentic selves, in our normal (and beautiful) bodies. And then it’s about treating and moving our bodies in ways that promote physical and emotional health and well-being.
I am a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Certified Running Coach and long-time runner. Over the last decade I’ve completed over a dozen half and full marathons and just as many 2-10 mile races. I’m not at all an elite runner, but I do have lots of experience establishing, rehabilitating and maintaining a running routine while juggling things like work, pregnancy, parenting, moving etc. In other words, I am a REAL person, and I can relate to your challenges.
I have Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Although my degree doesn’t directly relate to running, it did teach me to think critically. My beliefs and advice are always supported by both the latest data in running science and my own personal experiences.
I offer personalized, one-on-one virtual coaching and customized training plans. While I’m happy to work with runners at all levels, I have a special place in my heart for those who are:
- Looking to try running for the first time
- Looking to try running for the first time… again
- Looking to get back to running after a “break”
- Struggling to balance the demands of life with an exercise routine
- Attempting a new race distance
As your coach, I will listen to you and support you in preventing injury and building healthy, sustainable habits.
For the last 9 years I have found balance through the combination of running and yoga. Yoga has helped me build the strength and flexibility necessary to prevent running injuries and taught me the value of mindful activity.
